Food

As I love eating and trying out new things I love the United States. All of us have been eating so much lately, that all of us were working out on campus, even some of us usually don't workout in Germany, because we don't eat THAT much! The portions are huge. When you order size S, you will get a portion equivalent to the german L, which is bigger tham enough and not many poeple order this size in Germany. Another fact is, that Americans are not tight at all compared to Germans. Once, we were at the Pearl Farmers Market and Florentina and me were standing in front of a stand ,where they were selling raw Honey. I was very curious, as I love Honey. There was a big range of different honeys and each of them looked a little bit different than the other. So, the lady offered me to taste each of them with a  spoon. I was so surprised how open she was (the honey was expensive!!). In Germany, you were only allowed to try just ONE time or even not at all. Because I love the way the lad

Austin

Bild
On Saturday the 17th of September, one day after we went to Fiesta Texas and Rodeo, we had a daytrip to Austin, the capital of Texas. Before I came to San Antonio, I was most excited for Austin, as I heard from others and from my brother, who had lived in Texas for one year, that I definitely should go to Austin. He and other friends described Austin as a very hippy and diverse city with lots of cultural aspects in it. 'The 'Austin vibe' is something different, Sania!' I was told.  So, in the early morning on this Sunday we were all sitting in two vans on our way to Austin. The drive lasted for about 90minutes and everyone in the car was sleeping except me and Nadja. On our way to Austin we had a little break. While Mikki (one of the interns) was refueling, I took this oppurtunity to see, whether this filling station looks from the inside like the ones I have been seeing in American movies my whole life and indeed, this filling station looked like the ones I

Fiesta Texas or Rodeo? My answer is Rodeo!

On Saturday, the 16th of September it was planned to go to the Fiesta Texas, an amusement park not so far away from our university. Before we went to Fiesta Texas, we did some shopping at the La Cantera Mall, which has a beautiful nature scenery! So, as we arrived at the Fiesta Texas, all of us were very excited for the thrilling rollercoaster you were able to see from far away already. So exciting! As I was not feeling well on that day (fever) I felt even more sad, that I was physically not able to ride rollercoasters. Irrespective of this fact, Michaela and Cole offered us a ride to the Rodeo, for which Michaela was more excited to see than we were! Some other Fulbright students and I agreed on her plan and she drove to the Rodeo show after staying 2 hours at Fiesta Texas. First, I was not exactly sure what a Rodeo is, but when I talked to Michaela and the other students I finally knew what it really is and I was very excited to go there. Arriving at the Rodeo I already felt the &

Highlights

Today I want to tell you something about the highlights and must do's, while you are in San Antonio. One of the highlights, that I won't forget is the Japanese Tea Garden.  We actually planned this trip spontaneously, so we did not expect anything much. First we walked up the stairs, and arrived at a buildung which lookes like this:  When we arrived, we were not surprised, but as soon as we went behind this buildung, we an incredibly beautiful scenery: Lots of flowers I have never seen or smelled before and fishes, different plants and a waterfall (background on the picture)  were to be seen in this beautiful garden. Immediately, I started walking through this whole garden, and for the fist time since I am in SA, I felt very relaxed. This place is awesome, if you want to be for yourself for a while. In Germany, I think there is no such garden, where you can find these kind of plants and expecially a waterfall in a garden is rare in Germany. However, I am so

Our jorney and first impressions

Bild
Today is the 11th of September and we arrived on Monday, the 4th of September. Since that day I have been collecting lots of experiences and impressions, and now I am ready to share my first Impressions. So, our journey from Frankfurt to San Antonio was extremey exhausting and nervewracking, but all of us stayed strong and literally noone slept in the plane, so jetlag had no chance to defeat us. As our flight from Frankfurt to Dallas was delayed for about 30minutes, we had to rush through the Dallas Airport ( and through Immigration, too!) to get our flight to San Antonio on time. Luckily, no one had problems at the immigration, but unfortunately four of us did miss the flight to San Antonio. They reached the gate, when it was just closing. They even tried to talk to the pilot but in the end, they had to wait for four hours for the next flight. Me, and my other friends, who made it on time were feeling worried and sad. We did no really know how to react, but we tried to stay calm.
Hey everyone! My name is Sania Rehman and I am 21 years old. My parents come from the beautiful province of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan. Currently I am studying political science and business administration at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. I chose to study at this particular university because of its outstanding performances ( in the past and today) in PoSci, Economics and Sociology. Another reason is that this university is known to have the most beautiful campus ( I totally agree!)compared to other universities in Germany, but that's another story.. Now some sentences to myself as a person: I would describe myself as a very open, curious and sometimes too passionate person. I love to work thoroughly and precisely. I have always been very interested in communicating with others, getting to know them better and having a good relationship with my friends and family. Being in a good company, having many laughs and long discussions about
